Interview with Dave Fortune
Daler-Rowney's screen printing range boasts a rich history. Renowned expert Dave, who has authored several books on screen printing, particularly highlights the use of the System3 Collection.
Dave Fortune, visiting lecturer UWE Creative Arts. Having worked at UWE Creative Arts for many years his interest in screen printing (serigraphy) and editioning of all sorts of multi-colour imagery is extensive. He has lectured in the USA, Australia, Oslo Norway and many summer schools and workshops in the UK.
What inspired you to pick up a brush and start painting?
When did your love of art start? Did you always want to be an artist?
I've only ever worked within a University setting teaching serigraphy (screen printing) on paper, board, textiles and ceramic transfer.
What would be your advice for new artists just starting up?

What is the best tip you were told early in your career?
Experiment with mark-making, colour and all techniques of printmaking.
