Art Paper for Acrylic Paint & Oil Paint

Art paper for acrylic paint and oils requires an increased amount of thickness, texture and absorption while maintaining the brightness and intensity of the colours. Our oil painting paper is available from the Georgian range. This acid-free art paper has a fine-grain finish with a weight of 290gsm. It is designed to absorb oil evenly, maintaining the shine of the paint, and is available in pads, sheets and artboards of varying sizes. While this paper is most suited to oil paints, it is also regarded as an oil pastel paper, too.

Daler-Rowney has two ranges that are suitable for acrylic paint: Simply and System3. The Simply Acrylic paper is most suited to beginners and students who are looking to experiment with acrylic paint. This range is crafted to present a canvas-like texture and is available in sizes A4 and A3.

The thickness of the acrylic paper makes sure that the thick formulation doesn’t sink into the page below it. The System3 acrylic paper is high-quality with a linen-weave finish, recreating the most-used surface for acrylic painting. Available in pads and artboards, this range is perfect for those wishing to practise as well as finished artworks.

Due to its heavyweight nature and lightly textured finish, the Optima Mixed Media range can be used for oil and acrylic paints as well as a bunch of wet and dry techniques.
