How to create art with tape - design 1
Your step by step guide
Start by taping down your paper on all sides to a flat surface to make a border. Next start taping a ‘starfish’ shape of 5 strips and work out from there.
Continue to mask off triangles or geometric shapes until you are happy with the design.
Decide on your colours for the design by experimenting with some scrap paper before starting your tape art.
Begin painting your design, make sure your paint overlaps with the tape for a perfectly straight edge once the tape is removed.
Wait for the paint to dry, then very gently remove the tape without forcing it and it should peel smoothly away revealing a crisp white line.
Once all the tape is removed you have your finished design! Go on to create more patterns and experiment with different colours using this tape art technique.
