Zack Mclaughlin
Zack Mclaughlin creates lifelike and striking art inspired by the details and beauty he finds in the natural world. Commissioned all over the world, Zack has created art for clients such as Sir David Attenborough, Fortnum & Mason, Jo Malone London & Ralph Lauren Paris as well as props for movies, installations for Museums and individual pieces for art collectors & nature lovers alike. Zack has appeared on ITV, Channel 4 and Create&Craft TV as well as many live stage events, including BBC’s Countryfile in the park, to talk about what inspires him, teach others how to get inspired & be creative themselves. All of Zack’s artwork is completely made by hand, from the design stage all the way through to the painting and installation. He loves using a variety of materials to try and recreate the details and beauty that inspire him. It all started when Zack was working on his own Children’s book, in which a little boy is held captive by a monster, he creates his own paper bird lantern on which to escape. After many attempts, Zack just couldn’t make the lantern look right in his paintings… so he went about making one to draw from. Using Pages of an old book and willow sticks, Zack started creating what was in his head. Having never done anything like this before, it took a while to teach himself, but after three months on and off Zack had created his very own paper bird lantern. And he fell in love with the process of turning paper into nature. Nature deserves attention to detail.
