Molly Beard
Molly Beard (Molly Doodle Dandy) is a self-taught artist and illustrator working from her studio in Lichfield, Staffordshire. Drawing her inspiration from the idyllic Staffordshire countryside, her whimsical and heart warming illustrations take inspiration from the everyday and finding joy in the little things. Crafted using a mixed media of gouache, watercolour, marker pens, pencils and ink, she aims to capture life’s small but significant moments adapting traditional techniques with a modern subject matter. After studying Art at A-Level and then further completing a Foundation Diploma in Art & Design, it was then that she had her first series of illustrations published and began freelance work. As well as working for corporate businesses, she also prides herself taking on numerous private commissions creating her distinctive interpretations of families, architecture and animals. Molly has developed her distinctive style through years of happy mistakes and being a self-proclaimed perfectionist. She loves to challenge her skill set everyday and is always eager to experiment with new materials and the never ending possibilities of art. She has also provided private tutoring and collaborated with schools, inspiring the younger generations what possibilities there are available as a working artist. When not in her studio, Molly can be found running over the fields with her dog, fleeing to the coast for a surf or riding horses.
