Miguel Angel Lacal García
Miguel Angel Lacal García was born in Loja, province of Granada, Spain in 1976 and at the age of 5 I moved to Granada, the city where I have lived ever since. I am illustration professional since 1998, I started in the world of comics and that career led me to the world of making animated films, a profession in which I have been working for more than 17 years, which has brought me countless awards from the which would highlight four Goya awards and a nomination for the Hollywood Oscars. I have continued with my art and ten years ago I became interested in drawing in the street, and I began to collaborate with the international group of Urban Sketchers and little by little the formats became larger, and I began to incorporate colour into these drawings. So, looking to express my pictorial concerns, I found watercolour, which I believe is the best medium to make fresh paintings full of spontaneity and quick execution. What I am looking for when painting is to capture both the light and the movement of what I see surrounds me and with this technique I can work freely enjoying the moment. With the world of watercolour, I have managed to exhibit in many art rooms as well as in both national and international exhibitions. I have achieved considerable painting prizes, especially in the fast-painting modality. I have also combined my work with teaching drawing and painting courses and workshops, as well as audiovisual production, recently expanding to online courses. I am the founder and head of the Granada branch of the international group Urban Sketchers and a member of the Association of Watercolorists of Andalusia. Creator with the international group Virtual Animation of content for the Metaverse.
