Jennie Webber (Wickings)
Jennie Webber is an artist and freelance illustrator, specialising in animals and nature. Using inks, watercolour and printmaking, Jennie draws inspiration from the world’s more bizarre animals, colourful marine life and unique ecosystems. Her illustrations aim to encourage an understanding and appreciation for nature and conservation. Her first children’s book ‘It Starts with a Seed’ won the inaugural Margaret Mallet award for Children’s Non-fiction in 2017. Her second book ‘The Coral Kingdom’ was created to raise awareness about the issues affecting the Great Barrier Reef and has been used as a learning aid in schools and conservation projects around the world. Since 2014 Jennie has founded and run Wild Life Drawing; memorable drawing classes with real animals that inspires a closer connection and a compassion for the natural world. Jennie is an experienced teacher and has designed creative workshops for the Natural History Museum, British Science Festival and the Royal Academy.
