I'm an architectural illustrator from Edinburgh, and I draw buildings with an emphasis on detail and accuracy. An interest in architecture has probably been shaped by growing up in Scotland's Capital, and combining this with a love of history and travel, I tend to focus on traditional buildings. I add character to my drawings by deploying light and shadow on textured paper to bring the architecture to life. My aim is to encourage people to take a second look at their surroundings and to highlight the details that they may otherwise miss. I love to find out the stories behind the buildings as I draw, so this is another aspect I try to showcase with my work. Using sharp pencils and fine-liner pens, I try to create compact and clean drawings which celebrate the intricacies of architecture. I enjoy developing and refining my style and I have recently started introducing colour into my drawings using watercolour pens and paints.
