Björn Nordström

Björn Nordström (b. 1985) is an artist from Karlstad, Sweden. He has always painted since he was a child. He took drawings lessons for a couple of years in his childhood. Other than that, he is self-taught. Nowadays Björn only paint realistic portraits in acrylics. Even if his art is very realistic, so is the realism itself not the main focus for him. The main focus is the feelings in the artwork. Björn want to create a melancholic feeling, but at the same time he wants to keep his painting as stripped down and neutral as possible. Björn also want to get away from the everyday and create something more timeless in his paintings. What also is important for Björn in his art is the light. He works a lot with light and shadows to create contrasts and enhance the emotions in his artworks. Björn's paintings takes a lot of time and energy to finish. Patient is a key ingredient for him. Björn have had a lot of exhibitions during the last 10 years in Sweden. His artworks have also been selected twice for the prestigious "spring saloon" at Liljevalchs in Stockholm.
