Step 1
Placement of the bird

Using a red pencil, draw the outline of the flamingo on the sheet of paper.

The bird should take up all the space inside the sheet of paper to make the creative process more enjoyable.

Step 2
The beak and the eyes

Using black and yellow oil pastels, draw the beak and eye details as in the demonstration.

Step 3
The plumage

Use the neon pink oil pastel to apply the flamingo plumage. Colour it by making large paths with the pastel stick.

Step 4
Contouring

With the red pencil and red oil pastel, reinforce the outlines to give more presence to the bird.

Do not hesitate to go all the way to the tips of the wings as well as to the legs.

Step 5
The sun

Then take the yellow oil pastel, and draw a big sun behind the bird's head. Colour the sun for extra sparkle!

Step 6
Puddles of water and details

Using blue oil pastel, draw a few puddles of water around the bird's legs. To create an impression of reflections in the water, the trick is to add a few vertical lines inside the puddles.

Refine the bird's eyes to complete the drawing.
