Fulfilment Supervisor Job Spec

As a Fulfilment Supervisor, you will manage the day-to-day operations, drive fulfilment output rates, and provide training to ensure service level targets are consistently achieved. You are relentless in making sure that each and every one of our customers receive their product on time, every time.
You will support the Distribution Manager with workloads and priorities assignments within tight time scales and contribute to implementing operation strategy in line with business objectives.
To make this happen, you have a team of four Leaders and 28 indirect reports to cover domestic and international shipments.
You will be the main point of contact internally for customer service and externally with suppliers for the effective management of the orders’ fulfilment and their deliveries. You will be the type of person who is able to build lasting effective relationships with people around you even under pressure and in difficult situations.
You’re smart enough to think on your feet and have a passion to drive performance in the right direction, paying careful attention to the service we deliver for our customers. You will be enthusiastic and driven towards achieving high standards of quality and be bold enough to make key decisions quickly and trust your own judgement in the running of the operation.

You have full ownership of the ‘Pick to Deliver’ process and logistics. This will encompass.

  • Picking order process. Prioritisation, troubleshooting and resource allocation.
  • Order collation. Synchronisation and troubleshooting.
  • Packing. Across all markets, following customer requirements.
  • Managing order collections at the best service and cost.
  • Manage exceptions and priorities with customer service and the Distribution Office Support team.
  • Work alongside Leaders and Supervisors to resolve any problem impacting the outbound flows.
  • Oversee the return logistics.
  • Manage external suppliers.

  • Deliver customer expectations within defined service level agreements.
  • Continuously improve customer experience through accurate monitoring and process changes within a cost-efficient and traceable framework.
  • Drive effort and procedures to motivate, lead and develop staff to achieve objectives and comply with company policies and procedures, addressing shortfalls in performance, whilst continually striving for continuous improvement.
  • Systematically reconciles conflicting pressures into consistent and intelligent business decisions.
  • Allocate tasks and workload efficiently across the team to obtain the best overall outcome.
  • Control and monitor costs within your area of responsibility e.g., overtime, absence, transport carrier costs.
  • Responsible for the H & S of your department.

You will have:

  • Previous experience within a Team Leader, Supervisory or Managerial role.
  • Previous experience in managing a team.
  • Ideally, previous experience with an ERP (SAP or IFS)


  • Awareness of Picking, Packing, Transport, Logistics, Distribution or Warehousing environments.
  • The ability to remain calm and focused under time pressure.
  • The ability to solve problems independently and with confidence.
  • A logical and methodical approach to all tasks.


  • PC Literate, able to use Excel to intermediate or advanced level.
  • A strong communicator.
