Finance Assistant Job Spec

The Finance Assistant role is based at our offices in Bracknell, Berkshire, and will report to the Finance Manager. The role will be working within the office, Monday to Friday.

The main aspects of this role will focus on cash posting and reconciliation activities as this is our pinch point, but over time the expectation is to develop this role into a more rounded trainee role ad we streamline some of the processes.


  • Cashier
o Responsible for posting all cash receipts from customers including allocating to invoices, ensuring accounts are cleared down and following up discrepancies;
o Allocating and charging any fees and rebates correctly, raising credit notes where necessary;
o Reconciling and posting PayPal and credit card payments;
o Daily bank reconciliations within the Finance system;
o Completing the nominal ledger reconciliations at month end for all accounts relating to the bank;
o Process improvements.
  • Other activities
o Processing Intercompany invoices onto AP;
o Daily monitoring of the Finance shared email account and dealing with each request as necessary;
o Other ad-hoc duties as required.
