Willa Gebbie

Willa Gebbie is a self-taught illustrator based in London. Her highly-crafted illustrations combine traditional watercolour with contemporary digital elements to create a modern and fresh aesthetic. She has a preference for still-life, botanical and nature painting. Born in Scotland, Willa originally studied Chemistry. She worked in research science for 7 years before making the jump to illustration. Despite an ongoing fascination with science and ecology, she has never regretted her decision to pursue art as a career. Twelve years later, Willa now has a successful career, straddling editorial, publishing and marketing; providing artwork for clients such as Net a Porter, Chanel, Kate Spade and L’Occitane. A keen supporter of the wider illustration community, Willa has mentored graduates and early-career illustrators through the Association of Illustrators, London College of Fashion and University for the Creative Arts. Willa also founded the popular illustration meetup, Yo Illo. This is a monthly meetup for professional illustrators, bringing creatives together with speakers and inspirational events.
