Lindsay Swan

Artist and teacher Lindsay Swan has painted all her life, originally a watercolour artist Lindsay also loves to paint in both oils and acrylics and her acrylic paintings are often highly textured and full of colour whilst her watercolour paintings use the free flowing nature of the medium. Her inspiration takes many forms as she enjoys creating both figurative and abstract pieces, she loves trying new things and is fascinated by colour and texture. Lindsay began painting at the age of five when her Grandmother, who was also an artist, gave her a small box of watercolours and a life long passion for art began. Her Father was a Chartered Engineer and as a child she also was given a scientific background and this has made her very experimental in her work. She qualified as a veterinary surgeon from the Royal Veterinary College, University of London and for many years was in general practice but she continued her art learning from various tutors whilst also following her own personal study. Eventually she was able to devote herself full time to her art and she exhibits regularly. Lindsay and her husband Roger, who is also an artist and graphic designer, live in a 17th century farmhouse in Kent. They have a purpose built studio from which they work and teach and they have their own private gallery. More information about the work or art lessons can be found on the website:www.swanart.co.uk
