Newbie - Hello!

Hi I'm Clare, new to the forum today. I am an artist/illustrator. I paint with watercolour and ink and acyrlics. My Website is http://www.freewebs.com/originalartbyclare if you fancy a look at my work.

Welcome!

I'm a "newbie" also. So far, no welcomes from anyone....so, I thought I would take it upon myself to welcome another new member of the site...I'm a little bit disappointed that there is no interaction. How about you? I've recently started posting on WetCanvas (I had been visiting their site for a long, long time, but recently have started to post...I had a stroke and my world has become smaller and smaller, and it is a wonderful way to reach out. I was hoping for that with this site. Ah well.

I visited your website. I wanted to see your "Illustrations" section, but the website said that page was not available and moved me to their "please join us" page. Could not get back to your site by using the "Back Arrow" - Would have been interested in their free website, but, hey, what the heck if no one can see your illustrations/art and just THEIR adverts! You may want to check it out. There is another site that WetCanvas advertises that is called "Painters Showcase" - It costs about $8 monthly fee, but they have PayPal and you can upload lots of pictures of your work plus they put you on a Google list so folks find someone's work right away (at least that it was they say). I'm not quite ready for my own site yet, but I'm exploring the possibility (need a new computer and printer first!)

So, very nice to meet you Clare! (p.s., I paint with Watercolor also, no ink, and I have a stash of acrylics which I plan to use...I'm "new" to watercolor. I'm actually getting quite good, but hope to get really EXCELLENT before I start selling my work. Right now I do ACEOs (just a little paint, a little paper, and BIG results)! And there is a market on eBay...I did color pencil right after my stroke, when I found that I could still draw (the color pencil was not good for me or to me - long story) but I did sell a few color pencil ACEOs. The most I sold one for was $20. Not so bad for an awful!! piece of work (I think). My watercolors as compared to my color pencil days are really quite nice, and I could sell some tomorrow, but JUST A LITTLE MORE PRACTICE! I want to sell a patron something that is quality and beautiful and "must have," not only for myself but for my buyer.

And I ramble and ramble on! So, again, nice to meet you Clare. Ta ta for now!

Some interaction, from China

Hi mlsleisel! I am also new to this site. I agree with you, it seems pretty quiet around here! I think it is nice that you are using this opportunity to explore your creative self. It shows that everything happens for a reason, right? I am living in China but I am Canadian. I love water color, acrylic and ink, all water medias! I think they are equally fun and easy to play with. What drawn me to this site is I was looking for FW ink technical spec. That ink is so fun to play with, I wanted to know more about its type of binder. Could not find that info...anyway. Nice to meet you! Stefanie
