Mountboard colour

I have been looking for suitable colour mountboard for framing my prints and originals and could not find a good blue/green turquoise or golden yellow. There is nothing particularly turquoise in the range, yet I would have thought it would be popular especially with seascapes. If I were to mix it on my pallette I would use cerulean with aerolin or viridian. I paint on the Isles of Scilly and it would suit our light and colours. I am sure those in Cornwall would find the same. I think grey colours have declined in popularity, (in my gallery anyway). Yet there seems to be more greys than bright colours in the daler range today. Perhaps it is time for daler to review their range? I have decided to order primrose yellow to see what that is like, but something between that and sunflower yellow would be better. It would also be handy to have larger samples, it is difficult to sometimes judge the colour with a small sample. I not posting these comments as a criticism of Daler I have always had excellent service and Jim has always been helpful, just trying to be constructive!

Hi.

Interested in the response comment here - you mention a "Mountboard Selector which shows the entire range of colours on fairly small tiles" - this item sounds perfect for my business. I make table planners for weddings and get a very wide range of colour requests - I like to use Daler boards, but do find myself spending a lot of time driving around looking to see what local art supplies have in, and could really do with a board like this.

Is it possible to get one of these?

Regards

Richard

Thank you for your comments on our mountboards!

Thank you for your comments. We do look to keep the range fresh and review it on a regular basis. This year a few of our brighter colours such as Sunflower and Poppy Red have been introduced onto a wider range of cores. As it happens, we used to offer Turquoise boards until comparatively recently, but they were discontinued due to low demand. I will check to see if we have any cover paper left to make a few more boards.

Regarding swatches of colours, you may be referring to the Mountboard Selector which shows the entire range of colours on fairly small tiles. In addition, we offer full ranges of corner sets to our framing accounts, so that consumers can browse through larger pieces of board in each colour. If you need to see one of these larger samples of any particular colour, please feel free to make a request through our customer services department.
