Acrylic paint strokes
Hi,
Could anyone recommend any Acrylic paint strokes to use?
I currently don't have a technique, but it would be good to know different ways.

Brush Strokes
Tue, 05/17/2011 - 7:16am — teabreaksHaving recently seen the one stroke painting on tv and having been fascinated by it many years ago...I thought I would give this a try. It was SO easy to do (after learning a few basic strokes)...even more interesting was the fact that I tried it with my Daler Rowner watercolour paints (solid pans) and the tube of white watercolour which came in the set...and it worked beautifully! I have yet to try it with acrylics.
Brush strokes
Sun, 04/03/2011 - 3:11am — AWMcGuireThe best way to discover brush strokes is to play with each shape brush you have and see what happens! I have painted for over 30 years and still find new ones. On a more serious note, a discipline which really helped was when I studied one-stroke folk art- English canal boat or Russian- they use similar techniques; it really does make you focus on making the right mark with an appropriate brush, and is actually harder to master in acrylic because the rapid drying time affects the paint's flow properties. It will also teach you how to load brushes with more than one colour so the mixing happens on the support which gives much more vibrancy to your mixes. Hope this helps, truly, experimentation is the way forward!
