Holly Farmer

I am a portrait painter who primarily uses oil paints to capture an impasto realism of my subject. I also experiment with printmaking and drawing techniques. I am currently studying at New College Nottingham and will be progressing to study Illustration at University in September.

At 17 years old in December 2012 I was chosen out of a large number of applicants to be awarded The Joan Oliver fund, a small grant for an emerging talented artist. Since the award, I have had my own solo exhibition in which I was noticed by local arts leaders and even the local MP who featured me on his website.

I am completely dedicated to art and I try every day to find new opportunities to take part in. My skill in figurative art has been noticed by many people worldwide. I have been featured as the cover artist on an upcoming art and design magazine as well as being included on websites and art journals such as Design Juices.

I am also extremely business minded and have my own website and business cards. I have sold bespoke art to clients nationally and in America. Last year I produced a successful painting video series aimed at helping others develop their portrait skills and realise their potential. I am proud that I may go on to inspire others as a young successful person.

Main material used: Oil paint on canvas/cardboard Other mediums I use: Acrylic paint, charcoal, graphite, printmaking. Website: www.hollyjadeart.co.uk
