Cathy Read Art

I'm a self taught artist who left a successful career in Occupational Therapy to become an artist in 2008. Since then I've explored caricatures, portraits and abstracts before finally finding a distinctive abstract style in 2009 which I translated into architectural form during the following year. Since then I've been focusing on getting my work seen in exhibitions locally and nationally and entering various Open calls and submission opportunities. I'm beginning to explore international opportunities with some success.

I was elected an associate member of the Society of Women artists this year and have exhibited with them these past 2 years at the Mall Galleries. I've also exhibited with the Royal Watercolour Society at Bankside Gallery this year. I'm constantly looking to find new opportunities to exhibit and sell my work as far and wide as possible. I've also some ideas for large projects which I want to realise in the not too distant future but I'm currently focusing on my architectural abstracts.
