Debbie Pearce

I’m an artist based in Shepherds Bush in West London.  I always loved drawing and painting, although I gave it up as a study after ‘O’ Level, only going back to it many years later as a part time student.   I now study at Queensgate Studios in South Kensington as well as painting at home.

I love to work in oils and I choose to paint things that I find cheerful and uplifting or vibrant and colourful.  I generally frame my works in simple, wooden frames where the works  ‘float’ in a white space, making the best of their colours.

Working in the music industry for many years, then as a freelance marketing communications and music solutions consultant hasn’t left much time for art, although some of my doodles made their way onto the odd album sleeve!  Posting some of my work on Facebook for the first time in 2014 resulted in sales, commissions and invitations to exhibit.

My first public exhibition of a collection of my still life paintings of fruit and vegetables was at Thames Tunnel Mills in Rotherhithe as part of London’s Open House Weekend in September 2014.  I was then invited to exhibit alongside 89 other artists exhibiting some 700 works as part of an innovative new art fair in London in January 2015 called Artrooms.
