Alan Hunt Blog
Daler-Rowney's Feature Artist Alan Hunt explains how to apply the watercolour technique of overlaying washes, working from light to dark, to acrylic painting, to give the artwork depth from the foreground to the distance. Alan also explains that this technique can be used in reverse as well when applied to acrylics, working from dark to light. The two different techniques are demonstrated by his two paintings; the Swan and the Elephant.
