Biggest painting in the world by Sumaya Al-Rasheedy in Hail City

The world’s biggest Islamic fine arts painting in the name of God has been registered in the Guinness Book of Records on the 16th, May 2011.

This artwork, 20m height and 16.5m width, was created in Hail City, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The project was directed by Mrs. Sumaya Al-Rasheedy and carried out by female painters, art education teachers and about 3,800 female intermediate and secondary school students from Hail City.

Daler-Rowney is proud to have been part of this unique work by providing the painters with the colours and most of the brushes which were used to reach the final result (Graduate Acrylic and Simply Brushes). To ensure a professional result for the painting, Mrs. Al-Rasheedy trained more than 250 teachers and students to use and mix of colours, as well as for technical and psychological preparation for this large-scale project. The painting was divided into more than 130 pieces in a 330m² space.

Daler-Rowney congratulates Mrs. Al-Rasheedy for the remarkable efforts she made and the work she achieved in mixing and generating numerous new shades of colours.
